Allsorts Challenge

Wow I'm cooking on gas today, 2 posts in one day I think thats a record for me!!! This weeks Allsorts challenge is Rags to Riches and you basically have to alter or recycle something into a fabby project so here is mine -

This is an old washing powder box painted in acrylic paint them covered in papers, I really can't remeber where the papers are from, they are either Shabby Princess or Summer Driggs but I can't for the life of me remember which one.

Hope you like it

Pink Petticoat Pretty Petals Competition

Well I have finally managed to get my entries finished and sent off with just a couple of days until the deadline. I do like to leave things until the last minute!!!! The competition details can be found here but basically you could enter up to 3 cards/papercrafted items using at least one item on each that has been purchased from Pink Petticoat, as I already own most of the things on there it really wasn't difficult to find some gorgeous papers to use. What was difficult was deciding what to make and that is why it has taken me an age to finally get everything sorted out. So here goes with my entries -
The first is my flower photo frame, I saw this tutorial on Docrafts website for the flowers and just had to have a try. The photo frame was just a basic frame from B&M and cost 50p, I covered it in papers from the Wild Blossoms kit from Pink Petticoat and then glued on the flowers, I wasn't sure what to put in it with it being an entry for a competition, it didn't seem right putting a personal photo in so I went for a quote about flowers. I made 3 of these frames and gave 2 away for Mothers Day.

My second entry is this mini maze book which again I got the idea from a tutorial on Docrafts. I used some papers from the Lifes Lemons freebie kit on Pink Petticoat and also some of the papers from the colour collection, the recipies and lemon tips were sourced from various websites.

My last entry is a remake of a card I made last year and I kept it exactly the same as I love it just the way it is, the papers are from the sweet sundaes kit from Pink Petticoat, I didn't use a template I just played around until I got the effect I was looking for, it is highlighted with extra fine glitter stuck on with a quickie glue pen.

Well thank you for looking, I hope you like them and keep your fingers crossed for me for the competition.

Mother In Laws Birthday card

I thought this was perfect for a spring birthday. It was inspired by a card I saw on the Pink Petticoat blog. The papers are printed from my Kanban Seasons CD that I got from QVC a few months ago, the flower is my super duper scallop woodware punch, I cut out 3 circles with it and snipped them to make the petals, added 2 more handcut flowers and a button and some rafia, the ric rac ribbon is actually silver ribbon coloured in with a promarker. The sentiment was printed in Word.

Cousins Wedding Card

Made this one this morning for my cousin who got married yesterday and is having the party tonight, I believe it was all a bit last minute, they were getting engaged but then decided to just go for it and get married so we only found out last week, good for them I say, I think it's really romantic.

The card is white pearlised card, onto which I printed the sentiment directly using the LD Wedding font from Word. I also printed their names and dates onto card and mounted it on black card and tied a knot around it.

Allsorts Challenge

Well it has been ages since I posted, many reasons for that, been on holiday for a little while, had lots of housework etc... but the main reason is I finally took the plunge and bought myself a Silhouette Die Cutter so have been busy busy busy learning how to use it. Anyway I still check out the challenges everyweek but just haven't had time to enter them until now!

So this is my entry for the Allsorts challenge which was to make a card for a man, all of the paper items used are from Pink Petticoat Big Fella collection which is just perfect for all male cards and the ribbon and mesh are from my stash, the layout was inspired from a one my Husband got for his birthday last year but can't remember where it was from.
