Baby Boy Card

Hi

I was asked to make this for my Mam to give to a friend, I used the new Pink Petticoat pinstripe papers in Ocean and also used the dotty paper from the Big Fella collection, I don't have a die cutter so cut everything out by hand, I spent a bit of time on it and I am really pleased with the quality, usually my things are wonky or ragged but this one seems ok, I think I really learned from the Funky Fairys projects that it is important to take your time and get it right!

Hope you like it

Funky Fairys Christmas Club

Well we're 10 days into the Funky Fairys Christmas club and I am loving it, the projects have been great and I have loved making them. It's great to have a direction to head in because sometimes I just sit staring at my craft stuff waiting for inspiration that just doesn't come. The downloads have been lovely as well, I'll be really sad when it's all over in a couple of days :-(

Here are some of the items that I have made so far -

I hope you like them , I have absolutely loved making everyone of them

My favourite PP download kit ever........

Hi

Just thought Id share my first card using my favourite Pink Petticoat kit ever!!!! It's called Fairy Lights and it is extremely inspirational to say the least. It came out this week and I couldn't wait to get to work on making my Xmas cards with it. This is the first one I have made, I used the tree that has it's own punchable buttons which I think is a great idea. There's a few wonky bits on it but I can never seem to get a card perfect so I am more than happy with it. It's probably my last card for a week or so as I am on holiday in Iceland next week and can't wait for it, I'm like an excited child!

Hope you like it

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Hi

This week I have entered the Sketch Challenge on Papertake Weekly. The papers I have used are all from the Holiday Magic collection at Shabby Princess, I downloaded them ages ago and forgot all about them until this week when I was looking for inspiration through my many folders of downloads and there it was waiting to be played with!

The idea for the folded tree came from the Funky Fairys Blog.

The image below is another card I made using the same kit from Shabby Princess but it is not an entry for any challenges it's just a one I felt like making.

The photograph on this one isn't great but I love the tree image so just had to share it with you.

Hope you like them

Allsorts Kraft Challenge

This is my entry for this weeks Allsorts challenge which was to make a card using "Kraft" card. The Kraft card is from the Big Fella kit from Pink Petticoat, the patterned paper is from the His n Hers kit from Pink Petticoat, I embossed the brown paper using my fiskars shapeboss, the sentiment is embossed with copper embossing powder.

I couldn't decide which shot I liked best so I have put them both in lol!! I am very indecisive today!

I am really pleased with this one, I've been ill for a couple of days with a cold so making a card that I am 100% happy with has cheered me up no end.

I also get to enter the competition twice as I have used Pink Petticoat products so I will be keeping my fingers crossed for a win this week :-)

Hope you like it

Allsorts Snowflake Challenge

Hi

This weeks challenge at Allsorts was to create a card with snowflakes on, I made some cards like this one last year for Xmas and I loved the simple design so decided to do it again, The snowflakes were from Matalan last year, they're great coz they're really thick plastic with glitter on and they came in a box with about 5 different sizes, I think they were meant to be table decorations but I think they are perfect for cardmaking. This was a really quick card and I think that's perfect for Xmas when you have loads of cards to make.

Hope you like it :-)

Allsorts and Papertake Challenge

Hi

This is my entry to both the Allsorts challenge and the Papertake weekly challenge. Allsorts wanted us to make a card for a male and Papertake had a sketch challenge, so I have used the Pink Petticoat Big Fella kit to make my entry, I wasn't sure if the cake wasn't manly enough but men eat cake too so I stuck with it.

Hopefully I'll be partaking in many more challenges but lately I just can't seem to find the time and when I do get time I have absolutely no inspiration.

Anyway enough rambling, thanks for looking :-)

Thinkin of Summer....

I can't believe it's been a month since I last posted, where has the time gone?????? Well I have been making a few cards over the last 4 weeks but the one I've struggled with the most is the Pink Petticoat challenge which was to make a card which reminds you of summer! As we haven't had much of a summer it's been a real struggle, eventually this morning after weeks of thinking about it, I decided that summer to me is getting on that Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini and heading down to the beach. My card may not be the most technical or fashionable card around but to me it is summer on an A5 piece of paper, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. It is also my entry to the Allsorts challenge this week which was to make a card which no rubber stamping on, the sentiment I have used is peel off stickers coloured in with black marker pen.

Hope you like it :-)

Allsorts and ABC Challenge

Hi
This is my first ever card that qualifies for 2 challenges, I am really pleased with myself. The Allsorts challenge was a fab sketch by Dawny P and the extra criteria was that it had to be in Chocolate and Marshmallow colours. It is also my entry for the ABC challenge on the Docrafts forum, the challenge was B for Birth and it had to have 3 things on the card beginning with B so mine has Baby - Blanket and Brown. There are some bows on there too but 3 Bs were enough.

The papers and letters are from Pink Petticoat and the image is Tilly from Digi Stamp Boutique.

Hope you like it!

Mr Mojo came home WooHoo!!!!!

After what in reality was a few days but actually felt like weeks, Mr Mojo eventually came home with his tail firmly between his legs. I have been off work since Thursday of last week and have really struggled to get any kind of inspiration to make a card for my Aunties new home. I eventually stopped trying to force it and hey presto!!!! last night I finally became inspired. I think what actually got me going was I decided to organise my Digi papers. I get sick of trawling through each folder to see what I have so I have started to print off swatches of each paper and put them on a book ring. It's quite time consuming but perfect for those moments when you just don't know what to do with yourself. These are the first swatches I have made, the Pink Petticoat one is available here and the other one is my gingham paper from Funky Fairys. I think I am going to try to do one per week and see where I go from there.

So the card I was finally inspired to make was this one.....

I paper pieced and coloured a Pink Petticoat image (from the New Home collection) with Promarkers and the gingham papers from Funky Fairys. The letters are a bit difficult to see on the picture but they are also from Pink Petticoat and the buttons are from a local craft shop.

I hope you like it, I'm really pleased with it and am now reluctant to give it away lol.

Thanks for looking and don't be shy leave me a comment to say you've been.

Thanks

Wendy :-)

Papertake Weekly Challenge

This one is a last minute entry to the Papertake Weely Challenge. The challenge was a Colour Combination one where you got to pick your own combination from pink, black, white, yellow, green, grey and lilac. I have tried loads of different combinations and haven't managed to get more than 3 colours in without it looking over the top. So I've stuck with my faves Pink, Black and White.

The papers and image are from Lolas Boudoir collection from Pink Petticoat.

Thanks for looking, hope you like it.

Allsorts One Challenge

Well it's taken me all week to sort this one out as I have been working but I am now off for 2 weeks Hurray!!!!! So I am going to enter every challenge that I can. This weeks challenge from Allsorts was to use one of everything e.g one button ,one piece of design paper (this does not have to be in one piece however), one piece of coloured card (as well as card blank), one flower, one brad, one gem, one image, one sentiment etc.. So this is my entry, It's the first time I have a made a shaped card like this but the shaped card challenge from Allsorts a couple of weeks ago has inspired me. I used a ready made cream DL card and just cut off the top and turned it into the diamond shape, the striped paper, plain paper and image is from Pink Petticoat, cream ribbon, bit of glitter then added a sentiment using the Ali Edwards font and Voila!!!

I'm off to Loch Lomond for the weekend so now so hope you like my card and thanks for looking.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Hi
I am really enjoying entering all of these challenges, I don't know why I didn't do it before!! I have a list of cards for various occasions over the next couple of months and these challenges are giving me the start I need, I always struggle deciding what to put on a card but when you have a starting point like a sketch it makes it so much easier.

This challenge is a sketch challenge on Papertake Weekly and you can find the details here

I decided to use this sketch to make a card for my other niece,( she is a twin to the niece who's football card is in the post below this one ) so I have used Lilly images again from Digi Stamp Boutique. The papers are from Pink Petticoat, they are the his and hers collection which is in the retiring items.

Hope you like it

Allsorts Challenge

I entered this challenge last week for the first time and made the top 5 I was sooooo chuffed!!! I thought I'd give it another go this week. It's a sketch challenge this week and you can find the challnge details here. This card has been made for my niece Emma who will be 10 in a couple of weeks, she claims to be a football loving tomboy but likes wearing high heels and make up so I thought I'd try to do a girly/tomboy card.

Hope you like it!!

Tuesday Taggers Weekly Challenge

Allsorts Shaped Card Challenge

Hi
When I saw on the Pink Petticoat blog that they were sponsoring a challenge I just had to enter it. I don't usually enter challenges but I could not miss the opportunity to get a free download from my favourite site.

The challenge from Allsorts was to make a shaped card and after looking at their colourful blog I was inspired by the pictures on the background of the blog and came up with a cupcake.

I used papers from the Sweet Sundaes kit from Pink Petticoat and made my own template for the cupcake. I used my quickie glue pen and some extra fine glitter to add some girly sparkle and for the sentiment I used the free font download from Ali Edwards (the link for the font is on my acceptance card also on my blog). To finish I used a button and some green card for the cherry.

I hope you like it :-)

Todays Creativeness..........

Well I am into my 2nd week of being off sick and now that Wimbledon is all over i'm going to use my time to try and build up some card stocks for the millions of Birthdays/Anniversaries etc... that I have coming up over the next few months.

This is my first creation of today and I love it ( I'm modest too lol ), mostly when I'm cardmaking I think my results are ok but then every now and then I make something that I am sooo proud of and this is one of those cards.

I made it using papers from the Lola's Boudoir collection from Pink Petticoat http://www.pinkpetticoat.co.uk/lolas_boudoir/lolas_boudoir.php, I bought it a couple of weeks ago and have been dying to have a play with it. I've actually made 7 cards today using just this collection. I absolutely love it!

My creativeness ( not sure if that's a word but I like it ) has now dried up so I'm going to put my feet up and relax for the rest of the night while Hubby is at work.

Thanks for popping by my blog, hope you're liking it :-)

Finally a new card!!!

Well I eventually got round to making a new card, this one is for an acceptance to a wedding where my Husband is a joint Best Man.

I made it using Pink Petticoat sweet flourishes in cream and ocean, I thought this was an appropriate colour as the reception is in a building on the sea front, the font is a free download by Ali Edwards I got the link from Pink Petticoat and it is here.

Hope you like the card, I'm really pleased with it and it has inspired me to make more so hopefully I'll be posting again in the next few days.

Quick update

Hi
Well I had my foot operation yesterday and I now have the pleasure of wearing a ridiculous moon boot for 3 weeks - what joy!!!! - but hey if it makes me better in the long run then it's all good :-)
After spending ages this morning looking for a free download for the perfect shade of blue gingham paper that I need to match my ribbon, I decided it might be a good idea to put links on my blog for free download sites, hope you find them useful and please let me know of any so that I can add them on to the list.
I will post again in a couple of days hopefully with some cards as I have a list of ones that I need to make.
Thanks for stopping by.

PS I never actually found the perfect shade of blue gingham paper so ended up changing my idea completely , how many times have we all done that I wonder lol!!!!

My new goodies :-)

I am sooo excited, I finally got to spend the vouchers (that I got for my birthday) in my local craft store, I was in there for at least 1 and a half hours while my poor patient Hubbie waited in the car outside and he never moaned a bit when I finally got back to the car, bless him.

I have spent these vouchers a thousand times in my head so couldn't wait to get them spent and thought I would share with you what I bought................

I think my favourite items f the day are the tiny buttons, I love them and they were only 50-80p per pack which I thought was great.

I can't wait to play with them but I'm going to have to wait until next week, my foot op is now on Monday and then I am not allowed to move for 2 weeks so what else would I do with my time but craft :-)

Now that I am over the initial fear of blogging I am actually quite enjoying it, hope I'm not boring you and thanks for dropping by.

Flowers for the Pink Petticoat challenge

I have had great fun making flowers for the challenge on http://www.pinkpetticoat.co.uk/ I think it's a great idea to make your own flowers from scraps of paper because I ( like all other crafters ) just find it impossible to throw any bits of patterned paper away.

These are my creations so far.......

I made these ones by using some flower templates I already had and the papers are from the Sweet Sundaes kit, pinned them altogether with brads and added a bit of glitter to make them extra girly, I thought I may have overdone the glitter then realised there is no such thing as too much glitter!!!

These ones were made using a petal template I found online, I used the Lola's Boudoir papers in Pretty Pink with a gromlet and gem in the middle. I had been looking at the Lola's Boudoir and Rainbow collection for ages then to my delight they were put into the retiring items section at a great price, it took me all of 2 seconds to convince myself I needed them and I am so pleased I did get them.

I will probably be adding more flowers as I am off work for 2 weeks due to an operation on my foot so I am going to have plenty time on my hands.
Hope you like my creations, please leave me a comment to let me know you stopped by. I am very new to blogging so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Wendy

First ever post with one of my cards

Well I hope this works, after setting up this blog ages ago I haven't yet had the courage to put anything on it, after seeing all of the amazing blogs that are out there I just found it a bit daunting coz I don't think I will ever get mine looking as good as any of them.

Anyway enough rambling and this is my latest card which I would like to share. It's made using the Big Fella kit from my very favourite website, Pink Petticoat.

I don't actually have a Dad to give it to but I'm sure I'm not the only crafter out there who makes a card just for makings sake. The plan is that I build up enough stock to take around local shops to see if they will sell them.

It would be great if you could leave a commentto let me know what you think.
