Halloween cards by my nieces

Hi

Just wanted to share wiht you these crads that my nieces madethis week, we don't sem to do Halloween cards in this country but with all the fasb Halloween crafting stuff that is available it seems a shame not to make good use of them, the kids enjoyed it and I think the results are great.

They got their inspiration from the October issue of Cards magazine which I think has the most amazing cards on it and my subscription to all of their magazines is only around £6 a month which I think is such a bargain.

The papers were all from Pink Petticoats Halloween kits and the shapes were all die cut, the ribbon is from my stash.

Hope you like them

Halloween Cupcake Wrappers :-)

Hi

I had such a great time making these cupcakes, I am rubbish at icing so they do look a bit pants but it was the wrappers I was trying to focus on not the actual cakes.

I 've decided to try and make a bit of extra money to help pay for our fabulous Carribbean cruise next year and one of the ways is to sell these cupcake wrappers on eBay.

I've used papers from the halloween collections from Pink Petticoat (the links are in the post previous to this)

I hope you like them and if anyones interested you can buy them here or here on eBay.

Thanks for looking

Halloween Treats!!!

I'm loving the new Design Team over at Pink Petticoat, it's fab to have such amazing inspiration almost on a daily basis, I keep meaning to try out everything but this is the first that I have got round to doing.

They are inspired by the work of Terrie Bailey who is on the DT and this is the post that got my creative juices flowing.
They are nowhere near as good as Terries but considering I made 40 in one sitting I don't think I did too badly. I am donating all 40 to an event we are holding at work in aid of The Rainbow Trust so hopefully they will fetch a few pennies in for the very worthwhile cause.

Everything was made using the 3 Haloween kits from Pink Petticoat - Spooky Doodlies and the Happy Hauntings for boys and girls.

The directions for making the "sour cream containers" are also from Pink Petticoat and you can find them here.
Hope you like them and thanks for looking

Made with my Kanban TSV stamps

Hi

A couple of weeks ago I ordered the Kanban Todays Special Value from QVC, to be honest I'm not a big fan of the ready made items from Kanban that you just stick together, I'm not saying they are not good products it's just that I personally prefer to play around with things rather than put sticky pads on the back of things, so when I heard it was a Kanban TSV I almost switched off - how glad am I that I didn't!

It was a stamp set with over 100 stamps and a CD with loads of background papers on them and here are my first 2 cards made with the stamps -

The one above was inspired by the idea sheet that came with the stamps, the background and sentiment and frame are all from the set, the flowers and ribbon are from my stash and the flower insides are card candy coloured in with pro-markers.

This one was made using background papers from Funky Fairies (sadly no longer open) and the stamp and sentiment from the Kanban set.

I coloured the image in with my Papermania water colour pencils and highlighted the dress with my Quickie glue pen and some extra fine glitter.

I am hoping my photography skills have improved after taking some tips from the internet, normally I have to edit my photo's loads but this little lot have not been altered at all so I'm chuffed that I've learnt something new :-)

Hope you like the cards

Quick post...

Just a quickie to post a card I made a couple of weeks ago, it was a request for a birthday card with a pig and a monkey holding hands!!!!! After tearing my hair out for an hour thinking how on earth am I going to do that I used an image from Pink Petticoat and an image from Digi Stamp Boutique, printed them side by side and made it look like they were holding hands :-)

I was really impressed with myself for this one as it took a fair bit of working out and I love the results. I don't normally use characters on my cards but I loved colouring it in with the chalks and then paper piecing it so I'm definately going to do a bit more character work.

Pig Image - Pink Petticoat
Monkey image - Digi stamp boutique
Papers - Doodle dots from Pink Petticoat
Chalks - Dovecraft
Pearls - from stash

Crafty Sort Out!

Well I thought I would put my time off work to some good use and have a bit of a clear out and tidy up so I started with my dreaded ribbon box and I am very impressed with myself, it took me hours of lying on the sofa watching films to finish it off but it's all done now, I just wonder how long it will stay like that!

So this my before...... ( I should be very ashamed)

And this is the After.....

I used up all my bits of scrap card to wind my loose ribbons around and it's worked really well :-) I give it 2 weeks lol!

Thanks for stopping by

Forgive me bloggers for I have sinned....

........ It's been 4 months since my last blogfession!!!! I can't believe it's been 4 months, I've just had so much on lately that I haven't found the time to get on here but I'm going to make much more effort in future, I've still been making plenty of cards, especially since I had a Gastric Bypass recently so whilst on sick leave I've been working hard in my craft room. Instead of putting my photos on separate blog entries I've just decided to get them all on one then I can start again with separate blog posts for each card. Please excuse my photography skills, I have been researching on the net how to take good photos of your cards and come up with some good tips so hopefully the photos will get better soon.

This one is for my Mams partner who has literally been a little star helping out with our DIY jobs so I made this wallet card using the Pink Petticoat Big Fella kit (and the letters are also Pink Petticoat) and put some CD's inside for him.

This one was made using a leaf stamp from Laura Ashley and the flower was cut on my Silhouette machine then I put it through my embossing machine with the Swiss dots folder, the sentiment was printed from the computer.

This one (as are so many of my cards) was inspired by Sarita on little princess cards, the stamp was free from an issue of the docrafts creativity magazine, I stamped the image all over the pink background with clear ink, I had intended to heat emboss it in clear as well but my heat gun broke so I had to make do with just the stamp. The sentiment stamp is from Kanban's Spring Collection clear stamps.

This was one of those cards where my Mam rings me up and says she needs a Wedding card in 5 minutes can I do one, I think she thinks it's a 2 minute job to make cards, so anyway I came up with this one, the printed paper is Nanna'a Wallpaper from Funky Fairies which sadly is no longer operating and the sentiment is from a clear stamp set of wedding sentiments by Woodware.

This one is very similar to the black, white and red Wedding card above but I used the damask papers in Ocean from the Spring Wishes kit by Pink Petticoat and again the flower was cut by my Silhouette but this time I didn't emboss it.

This one is my personal favourite, it's for my friend who has just had a gorgeous baby girl called Simran, my friend is not a fan of pink so I went for the gingham papers in crimson from Pink Petticoat, the letters and Kraft card are also from Pink Petticoat and the pram and white lace trim were cut out by my trusty Silhouette
.

This one is as above but I used Ocean coloured doodle dots paper from Pink Petticoat.

Well that's it folks, thanks for stopping by, all comments are greatly appreciated and I promise to be a better blogger in future.

Hope you liked my cards

May is my busiest card making month!!

Except December of course lol!! Well I have lots of Birthdays/Anniversaries etc.. in May so thought I had better get cracking and instead of posting them seperately I thought I'd do them in block to save a bit of time. So here goes.....

This one is for my niece who will be 12, it is such a hard age to make a card for because she's too grown up for childrens style cards but not yet grown up enough for an adult style card so hopefully this one will fit the bill.

I love this one, it was inspired by a card I saw on this blog post, the owner of the blog is a lady called Sarita who makes the most amazing cards and it is definately worth a look at her blog. I know she doesn't allow her designs to be copied and then posted on your own blog so I have made a few amendments to the card to ensure it isn't a direct copy.

This one is for my cousin who has just had a baby boy, the papers are from Pink Petticoat in the Ocean colour and the washing line cut outs are done on my Silhouette (which I am finally starting to get the hang of!) The sentiment was printed on the computer.

I hope you like them, I'm really quite proud of how productive I have been over the last few days.

I am a Finalist!!! Yippee!!!!

I can't believe I am one of the finalists in the Pink Petticoat Pretty Petals competition, what a surprise! My entry that earned me a place was the photo frame I made with the flowers at the top, the photography of it on the Pink Petticoat website is much more flattering than mine so if you click here you will be able to see it.
The winning card by Viv Owers is absolutely gorgeous and a well deserved winner.
This weekend has turned out to be full of surprises for me as on Saturday my Mam, her partner Allan and my Husband took me on a surprise day out to Thirsk horse races which turned out to be a fab day and we came home £90 richer! They say things come in 3s so I am looking forward to seeing what else this week has in store for me :-)

Another Washing Powder Box

Well I decided to paint and decorate another washing powder box and this time it is a recipe box, my kitchen is lilac and blacks so in keeping with that theme I came up with this -

I painted the box lilac to start with then matted some Pink Petticoat gingham paper onto some black card and stuck it all of the way around the box, I cut out the letters with my silhouette and also cut out some pots and pans which you can see on the next photo -

I haven't filled it with recipes yet but I'm sure it will be full in no time, I've bought a laminator so that I can get them all laminated and kept nice and clean.

Thanks for looking and I hope you like it.

Denim corsages

I saw this fab idea through Summer Driggs blog and I am amazed at how easy they are, she made a necklace out of this style and others but I have just decided to make the bigger ones for now, stick safety pins on the back and voila you have a very fashionable corsage which will go with almost any casual outfit. Denim is a huge trend for this summer so I may just have to make a few more and be ultra trendy. The insides of them are just loose bits from old jewellery either sewed or glued in with fabric glue. The denim came from an old pair of jeans.

The original inspiration came from here and I followed the tutorial from here.

I used different techniques to get the different styles, the flat one has not had the edges stitched at all, the one at the back has had the edges loosely stitched and the one at the front right has the edges tightly stitched, that one is actually my personal favourite.

Have a go you will be really suprised at how easy they are, I quite like the idea of making loads and sewing them to the front of a cushion.

P.S. there are still a few items left in my blog sale on the post below so have a look there might be something that floats your boat.
